"Going Green While Gathering STEaM: A Model for Implementing iPads into the Lower and Middle School Science Curriculum "

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Because this is a "hands-on" session, we ask that you download the Apps "Nearpod"(free) and "Notability" ($2.99 or download any PDF notation application) PRIOR to arriving at the conference. Thank you!

In this hands-on session, participants will explore how our 3rd and 5th grade science classes successfully integrated iPads into the curriculum to heighten student engagement, develop 21st century skills, replace traditional documenting and reporting of scientific exploration, and create a greener classroom. The presentation will give the participants the opportunity to: participate in a sample classroom experience, engage in a discussion about the student and teacher experience of the pilot project, learn about the behind the scenes technical aspects of implementing such a project, discuss the potential successes/pitfalls, and as explore a variety of applications that facilitate STEAM learning and assessment, digital note taking, collaboration, and cloud storage.

This session will address several National Science Standards by providing a model that promotes scientific inquiry, technology integration and the ability to communicate scientifically.
