1:1 Mobile Tablet Project- Enhancing Teaching and Learning with iPads

This presentation will highlight a two year project on mobile tablets as a 1:1 device in five rural schools in Northern Alberta. It will include a brief overview of this project, as well as what was learned about the impact of introducing a class set of iPads in a Bretfort cart to the learning ecosystem of five rural inclusive classrooms. The approach of peer mentors and monthly coaching by an Assistive Technology for Learning consultant to support teachers in developing their TPACK and leverage iPads for teaching and learning will discussed. The challenges and celebrations of using iPads as both an educational and assistive technology during the life of this project will be shared. The results of this project will also be shared.
